I imagine they barely even have a discord account, but need to so they can voice chat with their guild. These people most likely don't even have a facebook, twitter or anything of the sort. Those people who don't want RDF(LFD) are just delusional people who prefer to live in early 2000's when internet was barely a thing. You also don't need Blizzard to incentivize tanking with the LFD reward system, when you can simply compensate the tank directly, but of course, LFD pushes feel entitled to get their tank for free. Essentially, LFD pushers have so little confidence in their ability to compete for DPS spots in the free market that they would rather wait 30 minutes to an hour in a queue for their turn to receive their allotted tank time than join an active guild, make/have friends, and/or be good at the game. LFD is communism where the redistributed wealth is in the form of Tanks. While I know some people on the servers I'm on prefer that feature to be missing, I haven't noticed any "vast majority" on either side. do you mean people on forums or did you send a survey to all players? To be honest, a lot of people with whom I chat on a regular basis were all looking forward to having the dungeon finder. There are other games where the developers listen to their players, not just a small group of people who decide for everyone.Īre we really going to ignore that vast majority of Classic players don't want LFD?īy vast majority. But there are other games, WoW is not the only game in the world. Blizzard has already made up their mind, no LFD, no Dual Spec, this is not the WotLK I remember. Comment by kintai on T13:01:31-05:00Īsk about RDF and not if we want mounts or pets ask real questions And isn't it nice to run around your realm and meet the people you know over and over? I now know hundreds of names that I'm meeting regularly in TBC and it feels nice. and some people just refused to speak english in dungeons with others, so people just stopped talking alltogether. The issue back then when they released it in 3.3 was that a lot of battlegroups included english realms that were by community dedicated to some language, like there were italian realms, czech realm (or 2) etc. I personally don't want LFG to be between multiple realms (that's why the community stopped working and anonymity became a thing), but if it was kept maybe as a phase 4 change and kept in bounds of single realm then sure go ahead (I don't have to fly to the instance portals as well). So their entire Wrath experience they were able to utilize this feature.Īnd I believe you are absolutely correct about reasons why this discussion is happening. So people remember using RDF for a large portion of the Wrath expansion - not a short period of time.Ģ) Most WoTLK private servers are based on patch 3.3.5 which allowed a player the ability to use RDF on day 1 of gameplay. And, of course, a level editor will launch with the game - opening up a new era of UGC, which practically defined the RTS titles of yore.Correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't RDF originally released at the end of WotLK? So why do so many people here insist on it being a key feature of WotLK when, as a matter of fact, it became relevant during Cataclysm (the expansion where WoW would start going downhill)? O.oġ) Even though RDF was released in a later patch that patch lasted for half of the expansion. At this time, it could be guessed that campaign expansions would be part of this monetary strategy similar to other titles from the Blizzard RTS repertoire, but no specifics have been given yet. Pursuing a free to play model (not unlike Starcraft II in its twilight years), the developers commit to releasing a game that is content-rich with no pay-to-win elements. Now, after a few years of teasing and rumination, the debut RTS title from Frost Giant Studios is revealed - Stormgate, a sci-fi-fantasy-hybrid RTS with an emphasis on co-operative play and the multiplayer experience, with all aspects of the game - from the story-driven campaign, co-operative, and competitive modes - supporting multiple people at once. Stormgate's narrative takes a blend between sci-fi and fantasy, telling of futuristic humansīattling demons from another dimension in a bid for supremacy
